I wanted my first manuscript edited after self-publishing it 11 years ago. Ariane has been a brilliant introduction into working with an editor.

We are 6 hours apart by time but despite this, she took me as I was, always makes me feel comfortable while talking to her, and even let me have a payment plan to help my budget. Her attention to detail shone through in the manuscript assessment, plus she listens to me talk too much and change the subject about a thousand times without losing patience with me!

Because Jackie took the time to understand me, she really understood my book and helped give me that extra push to take it to the place I’ve been wanting my book to go! Though it may sound weird to say about an editor, I was absolutely touched reading her edits because I really felt seen. I kept thinking to myself: She GETS it!

As I wrote the first draft of my fantasy novel, I kept getting stuck. I needed to resolve plot holes and figure out how to connect various worldbuilding elements, but I couldn't do it by myself. Jackie was exactly the type of editor I needed!

I would recommend Jackie and her crew in a heartbeat! She put me at ease right away. Her insightful questions, conversational style, and editorial experience helped me build a better story!

I can’t recommend Ground Crew Editorial enough. Everything felt really professional but also personal. Ariane was incredible. Her attention to detail was next level, and her love of story came through in her feedback.

She was super communicative—from feedback to progress to suggestions to resources. She felt like a true partner in the process not just a consultant.

I walked away feeling more confident in my book and will be going to her for my future projects!

After the final draft, you always have to consider hiring editors. Is it necessary? Maybe the manuscript is clean enough as is. After seeing the fixes found by Ground Crew Editorial, I am mortified at the thought of publishing a story without having it first professionally edited.

Ariane has an eye for detail that not many people possess. When you use her, not only are you signing up for someone who cares deeply, but someone who also has the skill to back up their passion. Honestly, my book wouldn't be near completion if it wasn't for all her feedback and help. I cannot recommend her enough.

The best part about working with her is the personal touch she adds to her work. I feel like I get my money's worth each time because she gives so much back.

Ariane has been a wonderful help. I approached her with a rather unusual project; I needed to choose a translator for my book (from its original, a rather small and obscure language, to English) and I needed expert advice since I'm not a native English-speaker. I was really happy to find Ariane flexible and helpful, even though the request was not a regular task of an editor. But she gave me great advice, in form of a review of the translated samples, explaining and highlighting both flaws and strengths of each translator. Her pointing out common mistakes helped me prepare for the full process later on, and her recommendations/ranking the translators supported my final decision. Now, looking back, I couldn't have chosen better (my translator is a blessing to have), and I have Ariane to thank for it.

“I finished a project I had been working on for a few years and felt like I had no way to end it. I also took a writing risk, one that audiences either enjoy or dislike. I really needed a professional set of eyes on my book to tell me if my ending was okay and if my risk was worth taking.

Jacqueline is an amazing person to work with. She is professional, kind, patient, and extremely knowledgeable.

I know it can be terrifying to hand your book over to someone, but Jackie takes the stress out of it. She is there to help your story, not to tear it down. I plan on using her services again in the future.”

“I have used multiple editors and Ariane was the best. Where she excelled was in story development and identifying gaps or weaknesses, particularly on the character reaction side.

I would highly recommend her as long as she can find time to edit for me in the future!”

“I hired Ariane for a manuscript assessment because I was trying to make my story flow better and I needed a set of professional eyes on it. She is extremely observant and has a great eye.

I wrote a novel in a historical setting, not thinking too much about word choices, and she caught terms and vocabulary that weren't invented yet.

I was impressed, as I have a history degree and didn't even think about certain terms such as "cute couple" not existing in the 14th century.

She will catch inconsistencies or inaccuracies that are harming your story, and in the end, it will make your book stronger. Now that I have graduated and am no longer under the critical eye of my professors, I realized I got lazy with my historical accuracy.

After working with her, I feel held up to a higher expectation when it comes to historical fantasy, but it is reassuring knowing she will catch anything I may overlook or ignore. She highlighted the most problematic issues and summarized them for me. She always provides quality feedback.”
