We are 6 hours apart by time but despite this, she took me as I was, always makes me feel comfortable while talking to her, and even let me have a payment plan to help my budget. Ariane has been a wonderful help. I approached her with a rather unusual project; I needed to choose a translator for my book (from its original, a rather small and obscure language, to English) and I needed expert advice since I'm not a native English-speaker. I was really happy to find Ariane flexible and helpful, even though the request was not a regular task of an editor. But she gave me great advice, in form of a review of the translated samples, explaining and highlighting both flaws and strengths of each translator. Her pointing out common mistakes helped me prepare for the full process later on, and her recommendations/ranking the translators supported my final decision. Now, looking back, I couldn't have chosen better (my translator is a blessing to have), and I have Ariane to thank for it.

“I hired Ariane for a manuscript assessment because I was trying to make my story flow better and I needed a set of professional eyes on it. She is extremely observant and has a great eye.
I wrote a novel in a historical setting, not thinking too much about word choices, and she caught terms and vocabulary that weren't invented yet.
I was impressed, as I have a history degree and didn't even think about certain terms such as "cute couple" not existing in the 14th century.
She will catch inconsistencies or inaccuracies that are harming your story, and in the end, it will make your book stronger. Now that I have graduated and am no longer under the critical eye of my professors, I realized I got lazy with my historical accuracy.
After working with her, I feel held up to a higher expectation when it comes to historical fantasy, but it is reassuring knowing she will catch anything I may overlook or ignore. She highlighted the most problematic issues and summarized them for me. She always provides quality feedback.”
